Hello Again

Hello! It's been a while so I figure I'd update anyone who actually reads this. :) Things here are pretty good. My hours for works have been low lately because of low enrollment at the daycare center but the extra time at home has been nice.. even though I haven't been too productive during the extra time. Next week at work I will officially be an infant teacher which I am pretty excited about. I love the infant teachers, and it will be really nice to have a 'home' at work instead of working in all of the classrooms all of the time. Not too much luck with finding teaching jobs. I have applied to a bunch but haven't gotten any interviews or anything yet. If i don't end up landing a job in the next few weeks I'm gonna see if i can stay at the daycare center part time and sub in public schools part time. Not exactly sure what what will happen, but I'll update everyone when I know :)

Heather and I are still living with my parents and we won't be renting on September 1. Living here is ok... I'm saving most of my money so when we do rent I should be set to go for the fist few months at least hopefully.

I have now officially taken all of the MTEL's (teacher certification tests) that i need too. I know that i passed 2 of them, and I am waiting on scores from the other 3. Once I get all of those I can apply for my MA teaching certificate. I officially graduate Friday (either tomorrow or today, depending on when i get this posted) so then my diploma will me mailed to me and I will be able to get my MI teaching certificate in a few weeks (hopefully everything will go through the Department of Edu quickly!)

The weather is finally nice here so we've been doing more outside. I'll probably try to get a beach day in sometime soon. This weekend we are going to go to the Lowell Folk Festival, which should be fun. Walking around, music, food... sounds like a good time. I recently went to IKEA and bought a dresser. Heather helped me put it together and it is much nicer then the one i had (not necessarily quality wise... but it's a lot bigger and I really needed a bigger one.)

I also started babysitting for a family in the area. They have a little boy, he's almost 3 months now. They just needed nights/weekends occasionally so I am watching him for a little extra money, because I usually don't have plans on nights/weekends that are set in stone (since it is usually doing something with Erica or Heather, and we an always switch things around :) )

This is from the night we went camping. My mom rented a campsite for the night at the state park in North Andover and we cooked hot dogs and made smores by the fire and then hung out for the night. It was a pretty good time. Something fun to do instead of just sitting at the house!

As always, leave a message here, send me an e-mail or message me on FB and let me know how you are doing!! Miss you all!

P.S. I put up a few pictures on my PICASA from student teaching.... there's only a couple of them on there.

rain, rain, go away!

We went into Boston for the 4th. That was fun.... super busy. My cousin Heidi and her husband Dave came from PA and we spent the day in Boston walking around and then went to the memorial bridge to watch the fireworks. Only let down was tat we couldn't hear the Boston pops playing... but I'm not sure it would have been worth the hassle of sitting at the hat shell for the entire day to hear the pops. Then on the 5th we went to the Andover fireworks which were suprisingly good. I wasn't expecting too much from them, but they were really good. Other than that life has been pretty average. My work hours have gone down significantly, but they will go back up again in late July so that will be good. Still no luck finding a job, but I did find a family to potentially babysit for on nights/weekends so that could be good for some more money!

The weather has been terrrible here except for the 4th and 5th which was really lucky. I think we have had 5 sunny days since I have been in MA...maybe 6. We are expected to not have a summer at all. So that is aweome :( Hopefully it will get better. Thursday is supposed to be nice, and then maybe it will get nice next week??

Here are a few photos from the 4th:

This is from the memorial bridge. The photo is of cambridge, and Boston is behind me.

my mom, me, and Heather waiting for the wifeworks on the bridge.

It is kinda hard to see here, but it was totally crazy. The whole street was full of people and we could hardly walk. It reminded me of times square in NYC.

PS I added more photos to my picasa from the 4th.... there's a link on the left side of my blog :)
